Paper back writer

By Kim - 10/04/2009 07:12 - United States

Today, I got back a paper after a peer review. I had worked really hard on it over the last week and was proud of the end result. When I got the paper back, the only positive comment on the paper was, "Well, I really like the blue staple you used to hold it together." FML
I agree, your life sucks 54 887
You deserved it 5 255

Same thing different taste

Colored staples are awesome. However, as long as whoever it was left constructive criticism, then you really have nothing to complain about. It can be hard to see something that you spent a lot of time on be unpopular, there are worse things. Not really an FML.

When I peer edit papers, I only pay attention to the things that are wrong. The purpose is to find places to make improvements. It isn't the editor's job to point out things you did well; that takes more of his or her time.

That's what happens in peer reviews. Total waste of time. As #3 said, all you usually get is a "good job."

don't worry about it. the better i think im going to do on a paper, the worse i do. what i learned is not to try to actually write something intelligent or worth reading, but just something that satisfies the teacher's requirements. at least in my school, anyway.

you should have taken back their paper and wrote "I like you blue shut the **** up!"

So you go to a school where they accept anything with a pulse, right?

not really a FML. probably a YDI if they can't even think of one good thing to say about your actual writing

come to think of it, I've never seen colored staples... and hey, it was just a peer review! it's not like it was your final grade!

Lol, that's like my "nice citation page" comment I got a few days ago.
