Today, a friend who visited me a week ago with "allergy rashes" told me that it's actually scabies, and she hopes I didn't catch it from her. It takes 2-6 weeks for the symptoms to show and I can't use the medication for it anyway because I'm pregnant. FML

That's very inconsiderate of your friend to do knowing you're pregnant. Hope you didnt catch anything.

I hope you didn't catch anything, your friend is very inconsiderate to potentially put you through that!

Try collodial sulphur; it doesn't get into bloodstream.

but did she know it was scabies at the time

use hot water a ton of bleach & dry everything on high heat to kill the parasite. steam clean the carpets, & the couch, loveseat, etc. scabies often is transferred at laundromat s if you have pets get them checked too. your friend just cost you a fortune. Sorry

I'm so sorry to hear that, OP. I had scabies a few years ago and they are so awful! I hope you can find a way to help with the itching without harming your baby :(

I had scabies once, and I had them for months. They weren't too bad at all the first few months, and then BAM my whole body was covered. Hopefully if you do get them, they aren't bad for a few months until you have your baby.

You have a very selfish and inconsiderate friend for not thinking of your and your child's health.

My brother worked in a boys' group home when I was pregnant with my second son. He apparently brought live home. His family Nixed themselves which protected them for 2 weeks so they didn't treat the house...or tell me about it. The pharmacist said it was safe to use Nix in pregnancy. My son is an amazing sweetheart but had ADHD and is possibly bipolar. I always wondered if there was a connection. His dad's brother does have similar problems though.

Pregnant or not I'd be kicking some ass and then telling that 'friend' to kick rocks and never come back around. That person is not a friend in my opinion.

LICE* I had a huge edit and ran out of time. I did have a pregnant woman with scabies in the ER once and they wrote her a prescription.

I sincerely hope that she didn't know that's what it was at the time. Stuff like that is my worst nightmare.
