I've done that before (the powerwash thing). Its really not that bad. It stings for a sec but then its gone.
Actually, it is that bad. Some previous comments mention gashes and missing toes. My father-in-law cut the tip of his thumb off accidentally with a power washer. No bone, just a big chunk of flesh.
