ok I'll say this: I'm not a PETA person by any stretch of the imagination. saving the turtle was a good idea. however, if you're on the highway you gotta realize that your life is more important than an animal's. it's not a pet (presumably) and even if you were gonna stop, pull over, use common sense. if you can't do it yourself, call animal control. besides turtles are deadly if you hit them with your tire. I've seen a lot of serious accidents because of turtles. so don't worry about them.
