Today, my boyfriend asked me to marry him by handing me a ring and telling me, "Okay we're engaged now." I should have seen it coming when we started dating, I went to his house one night and as I was leaving he said, "Okay you're my girlfriend now." FML

i actually thought it was really cute... but i wouldn't accept it as an actual proposal. i would simply hand him back the ring and say. "ask me next time and i might say yes, then you can say 'ok, we're engaged now' "

well clearly the op said yes cuz she took the ring... i can see where you guys are going with all this "creepy and controlling" boyfriend thing, but it really just sounds like the op is kind of put off that her fiance didn't put more thought into the proposal...like make it more special or cute. nam sayin?

I think this would make more sense on My Life is Average. I mean, he is a little controlling it seems, but you could always leave the guy. Then again, i suppose all girls want a flashy proposal, you don't really have that.
