Actually, I've heard that if you ride a bike close to cars, they will be much less careful around you if you wear a helmet, but it won't protect you much if a car hits you. At least you won't be attacked by spiders without a helmet. Spiders are creepy.

I think this is fake you would have crushed them when you put it on or the helmet is to big then YDI for buying a bad helmet

Where I live, it's a good idea to check anything like that before putting it on. Shoes, helmets, gloves that you don't use often. If you don't, you're liable to find things worse than a couple baby spiders- like deadly poisonous spiders, or maybe if you're lucky, just a scorpion. :p Even found a snake in my shoe once.
