Sleepless in Longfield

By sleepingonmydesk - 29/06/2015 09:28 - United Kingdom - Longfield

Today, after not being able to sleep for two hours because my boyfriend wouldn't stop talking, he fell asleep and I was left wide awake. I listened to him snore for another three hours and only got a couple of hours sleep. He's not working today, but I am. FML

I recommend some Redbull to get you though the day. Also, why didn't you tell your boyfriend to shut the **** up?

I'm not gonna tell you to dump him, but I will say that I had an ex-boyfriend who would do that. He would also wake me whenever my movements interfered with his sleep, which I can totally understand why he would need more than I did, because living off mommy and daddy's trust fund was soooo hard on him! Maybe you can talk to your guy about the value of shutting the **** up and respecting your need for sleep, but I kinda suspect that your guy and my ex are cut from the same cloth, in which case you won't be able to get a word in edgewise and he'll keep interfering with your ability to sleep. In which case, I renege on my first sentence and unequivocally say, "Dump him!"

This sounds exactly like my ex husband, though I had the added disadvantage of his noxious continuous farts as well. One night I slept in the spare bed, the next night he did - and apart from a couple of brief trips away we never shared a bed again. Even then it took months for me to get back into a good sleep pattern. Don't let it go on too long OP - kick him out of your bed for a couple of nights till you catch up.

Zzquil is a wonderful thing...take that before you go to sleep...that should get you enough depending on what happens... Or just mention last night to him but I don't think that will work out so well...

I loudly moan in my sleep and it makes it hard for my boyfriend to get sleep. Ear plugs worked for a while, so you could try that

Reward negative behavior. Great advice. *eye roll*

I've definitely been there before. It sucks worse when you work nights and have to sleep during the day.

The awful thing about this FML is that I do that to my boyfriend all the time. I'm a terrible person.

Next time... Tell him to STFU.

How would that help? She didn't want to do anything but go to sleep.
