Slipping up

Today, I was teaching a class when a student pointed out that I'd used the wrong "your/you're" while writing on the board. FML

Today, I got back the essay I wrote about how my country's education system is fucked. At one point, I made a spelling mistake. My teacher wrote a note about it, basically calling me illiterate, and telling me to pay attention in school instead of whining about it. She misspelled "school". FML

in media one time my teacher spelled "expressions" like "Exspresons" and im not even kidding. I guess thats why she's a media teacher

this will be a double wammy if you'r an english teacher.

The best bit is that the OP is named englishfail, and is from the US. How appropriate.

This isn't a very good FML. It's not that embarassing. Many of my teachers from highschool were very bad spellers and the class would constantly correct them. So the fact that this embarassed you, tells us you're a very sad person, who lets any little thing bother them.

Does it really matter? I've been corrected A lot of times by my students, and well I just continue with the lesson.

The only people that ever have rants about 'Grammar Nazis' are probably the guys that completely fail to grasp grammar in the first place. Seriously, it's not hard to get this stuff right; just because it quite rightly annoys some people when you can't do the simplest things correctly doesn't mean they're some crazy weirdo who locks themselves in their room all day on the computer in the dark who goes hunting for this stuff. You should know these rules by the time you're about eight..

#8 I don't know where you come from, but in most places, classes aren't taught by "kids".
