Today, I was in an exam and was chewing the end of my pen, stuck on a question. My mouth filled up with ink. I wasn't allowed to leave, so I had to sit for another hour with a foul-tasting blue tongue and a half-working pen. FML

Today, I was chewing my pen while I was paying attention to my teacher. I chewed a bit too hard, and something broke off, so I casually looked at my pen. It was unharmed. One of my front teeth had broken off. Everyone in class, including the teacher, had to see it before I could call my dentist. FML

Today, I got the hiccups during an exam. I wasn't allowed to leave to get a drink of water, so I had to sit there and take my test while hiccuping violently. The teacher ended up sending me to the hall and ripping up my test for "distracting the other students". FML

Today, I was sitting at the computer when this really annoying fly kept landing on the keyboard. After a while, I took the bottom of a pen and squished it. Twenty minutes later I absentmindedly started chewing at the bottom of the pen. FML

YDI, perhaps not so much for chewing your pen but for obviously not bringing along EXTRA pens, which I believe they specifically advise you to do.

Even if "a lot" of pens are non-toxic, I wouldn't take the chance of getting severely sick because I didn't want to leave a test.

This happened to me back in 4th grade. The teacher was lecturing us. I had to wait until the end of the class to go spit it out. It was neon green (which was cool back then). Someone actually thought I was throwing up, haha.

That sounds like the scene from the movie "Ernest Goes to Jail" when Ernest starts chewing on his pen and it leaks all over him. He ends up chewing on paper to try and draw attention away from all the ink and make it look like blue chewing gum.
