Today, I was working at Old Navy. A girl came up to me and did a bizarre dance. Not knowing how to react, I imitated her to be friendly with the customer. Then she stopped cold. Her friend stormed up to me and yelled, "You jerk! Why are you making fun of her? She has Tourette's, you know!" FML

Today, a customer came into the music shop I work in to look at guitars. After calling the customer "Dude," and "Man," numerous times, they stalked off suddenly. When I asked if everything was okay, they responded with, "I'm female, you asshole!" FML

Today, I was grocery shopping, when an elderly lady walked up to me and tripped over her own feet. I caught her by the arm, at which point she shrieked at me for "groping" her. She ended up smirking as security threw me out of the store. FML

Today, a very large lady was sitting down and panting as she watched me stock the bottom shelves at my store. Apparently, being able to squat down and stand back up repeatedly means I'm mocking her, and she threatened to report me to corporate. FML

@87: Yes, it's a real disease, but it's hard to tell when people actually have it and when they're just using it as an excuse. It's like insanity: criminals use it to get out of punishment and fall back on it when they don't have any other options. When someone does something stupid they can just claim Tourette's and it's all good. I watched a special about Tourette's a while ago and....there were several kids that I believe truly had it, but then there were some I had doubts about. But that's just me.

ok, the thing is he had NO IDEA that this girl had Tourette's and was just trying to think on his feet and make things less awkward. maybe it wasn't the best thing to do, but its not his fault #25- whats your problem? people with disabilities have EVERY right to go out in public- and Tourette's isnt even a big disability!! they're still people who can think and function.
