Today, I was working at Old Navy. A girl came up to me and did a bizarre dance. Not knowing how to react, I imitated her to be friendly with the customer. Then she stopped cold. Her friend stormed up to me and yelled, "You jerk! Why are you making fun of her? She has Tourette's, you know!" FML

Today, as I worked as a cashier, two girls came up laughing. I smiled as I rang them up, asking what had made them laugh so hard. One looked me dead in the face and said, "You." They then both walked away, laughing. FML

Today, I was at a restaurant, and I saw my friend. When we made eye contact, I made a creepy face at her and twitched my arms to make her laugh. A woman looked over said sadly, "Oh my God, that poor girl!" She thought I was "special." FML

Today, a customer came into the music shop I work in to look at guitars. After calling the customer "Dude," and "Man," numerous times, they stalked off suddenly. When I asked if everything was okay, they responded with, "I'm female, you asshole!" FML

Today, I was grocery shopping, when an elderly lady walked up to me and tripped over her own feet. I caught her by the arm, at which point she shrieked at me for "groping" her. She ended up smirking as security threw me out of the store. FML

I though Tourette's was about facial tics and Parkinsons was the uncontrollable movements. Someone correct me here.

Tics from TS is nerve and impulsive behavior. There is no way s nerve can trigger a dance. I know cuz i have tourettes myself, but i have control over it these days:)

WTF?! I have TS and I hate it when people try to be "friendly" like this! I may act differently, but you don't need to. I can see where you are coming from, OP, but next time, just let it be. Ask if she needs help finding something, don't mimic. It's rude.

141. it's the same thing but everyones effected differently by it... I have tourrettes too it sucks :( but i think it's stupid she yelled I mean how should know if a complete stranger has tourettes or not? she could have just calmly told you...
