Stiched up

By familyofpsychos - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - United States - Elkhorn

Today, I found a notebook my 12-year-old sister had been doodling in. Turns out the "doodles" were poems full of obscenities and descriptions of how she wanted to hurt herself. When I showed it to my mom, she accused me of writing the notebook myself to frame my sister. FML

Your mom is out of this world. This is not a thing to make jokes about.

I hope you didn't let the subject end there, OP, and got your sis the help she needs!

Yeah, obviously show your mom your handwriting and compare it. If that doesn't work have your sister write something and show your mom that the handwriting is the same. If still no dice I would say it is time to be the acting parent and get her to a therapist.

Your mom could use a reality check... or two.

Poor girl. Maybe something happened in school, or she's having a hard time. Either way someone needs her big sister, especially if your mom doesn't believe you. Be there for her.

Your mom needs to talk to your sister and maybe get her to a therapist - fast.

What a devious plan! Get your parents to freak out about your sister so they'll leave you alone to party and get in trouble. Here, plant this one in "her" ;) notebook: There once was a man from Nantucket...

Perhaps you could get a school counselor to help her out, or at least give her someone to talk to. Sometimes it's easier to talk about your problems to a stranger than it is to people you already know.

If your mom won't listen to you, for the sake of your little sister it's time to take it somewhere else. Like to a school counselor.

What if its just poetry? People use art as an outlet, she could be getting all the bad feelings out on paper and be doing fine in life.

No offense, but I think you should have talked to sis before your ma. So sis knew what was going on. It would only be fair.

Nobody really gives a **** about fair when it comes to self harm or depression. A couple months ago, I would get so down and depressed every night. I'd cry as soon as I was alone, I'd pick fights with my boyfriend just so he wouldn't go to sleep because I felt so lonely and terrible and sad and depressed. Eventually, I spiraled out of control and scratched my arm until it bled. Twice. My boyfriend didn't care about fair. He didn't care if it wasn't fair to keep it to himself. He didn't care if I wanted to deal with it on my own. HE TOLD SOMEONE. That's what you do when someone you love is depressed to a point where you worry about their life... You stop caring about fair and try to safe their life. It's like saying, "OMG, it wouldn't be fair to save this drowning lady because she's naked! I wouldn't want to touch her private parts on accident!"

Don't write an FML go out there and help your sister!
