Stiched up

By familyofpsychos - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - United States - Elkhorn

Today, I found a notebook my 12-year-old sister had been doodling in. Turns out the "doodles" were poems full of obscenities and descriptions of how she wanted to hurt herself. When I showed it to my mom, she accused me of writing the notebook myself to frame my sister. FML

Your mom is out of this world. This is not a thing to make jokes about.

I hope you didn't let the subject end there, OP, and got your sis the help she needs!

When your sister actually starts hurting herself, your mom will start to believe you. Your sister needs some help

The sister is 12 and already at her capacity to handle reality. It should be extremely obvious fairly quickly to everyone around her that she needs help.

OP you did the right thing about going to your mom. But since she's not listening you need to go to someone else like maybe a school counselor. This is serious, if she's writing about it now she might start actually doing it soon. Act now before it gets worse

You shouldn't have gone to your mom that makes her feel like she can't trust you. You should apoligies to your sis for telling your mom. Then try to check her wrists and legs if she usally wears shorts and tanks check her stomach and back. Hopefully the poetry is just an outlet and you can help her.

Maybe she thought the mom could get her sister the help she needed

It doesn't matter what OP does. If she wouldn't have shown the mom, her sister probably would've reacted like this... "OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU READ MY JOURNAL! I can never trust you ever again!" OP did the right thing by telling the mom, it only didn't work out the way it's supposed to because the mom seems like an incompetent twat.

Why do girls think that's cool? Honestly is it the EMO music out there today?

I'd say it sucks to have a mom that would thin like that - but why wouldn't you just talk with your little sister about it instead?

Parents these days are dumb as shit. Eardrops in eyes, doctors with foot fetishes.. seriously. -_- Sorry OP

Your mom is trying to process what she just saw and that was her quick reaction to try to shield herself from it. But now she knows. In case she takes too long, I like a previous response about telling your sister's school counselor.

Your sister isn't a psycho, that seems fairly serious and you should've gone to her first. But, since your Mother seems to be in denial, now you really should go and talk to your sister privately about it. She'd really benefit from someone reaching out to her to help her deal with these feelings. Good luck.

I understand why you worry, but you should not have been looking through your sister's belongings in the first place. Also, it is possible that simply writing about how she wants to hurt herself relieves her, so that she actually won't/doesn't do it. I hope everything gets sorted out.
