Stop lying

By dinosaurman - 07/10/2009 16:07 - Canada

Today, I found out that my sister, who is 16 years older than me, is actually my biological mother. She and my parents decided it was best that I didn't know who my real mother was, and to be raised by my grandparents as their child. I've always hated my sister. FML

Well then, I guess it's a good thing your grandparents raised you, isn't it?

Holy shit... this one isn't even funny. I'm sorry, man : |

well I can totally relate thought I had a twenty year older horrible sis. turns out she was my mom. I found out thru a photo album hidden in a closet. it's taken years to fully deal and get over it.

was she at least loving towards you? or did she treat you as an annoying younger sister?

My cousin were raised by my grandparents because my aunt was hooked on phoni...drugs at the time. Anyway, consider yourself lucky. A sixteen-year-old would not (most of the time) know how to take care of a baby. Anyway, didn't this happen to an actor? I'm thinking Jack Nicholson. Now you have something in common!

Well, I've always said that there's no such thing as a "perfect" family. And to lie and pretend there is such a thing is being in denial. At least you know now.

Well, at least she wasn't five years older than you. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lina_Medina

All i can say is that they were most likely just doing what was best for you at the time dude.

Aww Dinosaurman. I'm very sorry to hear that. Hopefully things will get better! Maybe now that you know she's your mom, you guys can sit town and talk, and everything. Seeing as how she is '16' years older then you, she was young, and probably wasn't able to raise you, and go to school..so she let her parents raise you..It might have been for the best, or perhaps..some stupid reason dealing with the welfare, you can't ever tell now-a-days. I hope things work out for all of your family. You don't have to change anything in your life, it's your choice. So if you love your 'parents' (grandparents) as your family. Just keep it like that. I'm sure your real mom will understand. Good luck! =]

Why do you say "She and my parents", she IS your parent!

Maybe she was referring to the people who actually raised her?

Think of it this way, #213: People who were adopted still call the people that raised them their parents, even though they are not biologically so. Logic is a friend.

The good news is they didn't abort you, you're alive, make the most of it. This was a pretty common practive in the past and I too heard Jack Nicholson has a similar background.
