Straight to jail

Today, I left a party after drinking, and was soon pulled over. I frantically grabbed my mouthwash I keep for emergency situations to cover up the alcohol smell on my breath. I was given the breathalyzer almost immediately. I blew a 2.37. Apparently, alcohol is the main ingredient of Listerine. FML

You're an idiot for multiple reasons. A) Driving drunk B) Not knowing that most mouthwashes have a high alcohol content C) Keeping mouthwash for emergency reasons

your an idiot for driving drunk, a dumbass for not knowing mouthwash has alcohol. and if you're gonna put something online, get it right. a 2.37 would mean your bood was %237 alcohol. even if that was somehow physically possible you would be way past dead. hope that DUI teaches you a lesson

you mos. def. deserved it! what person doesn't know alcohols is the main ingredient in mouth wash? wow... you, my friend, are retarded.

I'm calling BS. The OP, in his desire to script at "KICK ASS" FML, fails on several levels. 1. 2.37? You'd be dead. Even a .237, you would be too intoxicated to make it to the vehicle, much less actually operate it. 2. You don't do a breath test on the side of the road. It's a test done once you're at the police station after being arrested. 3. Breathlyzers/Draeger machines don't register alcohol contained in your mouth. They sample the deep lung air (next to your aveoli), which provides the most accurate measure of the alcohol in your bloodstream. This is why you have to blow really hard for the test. Fucktard.

Obviously your "keep mouthwash in car so I don't smell like the beer I drank before I drove" plan had never been put into action before. YDI for DUI, and YDI for drinking the damn mouthwash. There is a reason you spit it out. On a sidenote, did anyone see the House where the little girl (clinic case) drank the mouthwash and was drunk, and when House asked if she spit it out, she said "Mommy doesn't." Too funny.

alcohol in Listerine? durrr...and for driving drunk YDI

#31, there's enough to make you feel the burning sensation when you use it. Listerine contains around 27% alcohol. WAAAAY enough to send a breathalyzer skyrocketing. You deserved it. For driving drunk, and because really, what else would they use in a product meant to kill germs? It has to be something that isn't dangerous to consume in small quantities (ie, the stuff you may accidentally swallow) so bleach and pretty much any other disinfectant is out. Where is your head?

i dont know if there is another one that is more deserving of a "YDI". and #31 is right...there IS NOT that much alcohol in mouthwash and it is an obvious exaggeration. also, the police need to have reasonable cause before they breathalyze you, which means that you were blatantly drunk and the mouthwash wouldnt have done shit to help you in the first place. you, my friend, are a dumbass, thank god the cop found you before you killed someone.

how did this make it through moderation??? YDI and #34 is totally right.

You deserved it. I can't understand why people wouldn't be able to stick to one (!) beer or drink nothing if they have to drive... #31 Uh, yes it is. If you use it right before using a breathanalyzer, you'll get extremely high values. 2.37 is pretty normal.
