Today, I was feeling really down, so I texted my boyfriend and asked him to tell me why he loves me, thinking he would cheer me up. His response? "Don't bug me with this stupid shit anymore. You always ask such dumb questions." FML

You picked the wrong boyfriend. Though, if you just texted and said "Why do you love me?" without any explanation, that would piss anyone off.

well clearly you fish for compliments all the time

you need to spend some more time around guys. any guy would get annoyed by that. try something more casual like, "hey whats up, i'm having kind of a bad day =(" and if he's a nice guy he should make some kind of effort to cheer you up.

Tbh, you're probably too needy, and that's a weird question to ask by text. It annoys the shit out of me when people send clingy texts... just be honest. Tell him you feel like crap, and he will appreciate your directness and actually want to cheer you up!

Oh SNAP!!! You should take his advice hahaha.

Did it ever occur to you that if you constantly ask him "why he loves you" he might feel like you don't think he loves him? That can seriously hurt a guy who actually does care about you. If you do it as often as implied, you're probably just trying to manipulate him by making him think he doesn't love you enough. That is a completely bitch move and the reason that men consider all women to be manipulative bitches. Complaining about it on here is just further evidence of it. FHL.

Definitely should have also mentioned that you need some cheering up so he knew where it was coming from. But I can sympathize... I once asked my boyfriend and got a similar response. We're broken up now because he was too much of an asshole. If he's always like this, seriously reconsider your relationship...

I wouldn't have responded that harshly, but it gets old quick having to read those texts often, or having to think of a way to say it without it seeming like a laundry list.

YDI. That is a weird question to just ask out of the blue.
