Thanks, I guess

Today, my boss requested that I re-organize every file in the office, because she wanted the filing cabinets alphabetized right to left, not left to right. To thank me, she came into my office to give me one uncooked ear of corn. I think my boss has mistaken me for some kind of farm animal. FML

That was messed up of your boss to do. It would have been better if she didnt give you anything at all.

I don't think this an FML...organizing or not...here in Michigan, it is not uncommon for someone to say thank you buy giving vegetables...especially around harvest time. In the last month my mom has come home with 4 cucumbers and enough cherry tomatoes to fill a small bowl, and she does a job that's a heck of a lot harder and can be more redundant than filing papers. Sounds like an ungrateful employee, not an FML. An FML would be "Today my boss fired me because she/he wanted the papers filed right to left, and I had filed them left to right."

Also, slightly confused by the point of mentioning that it was uncooked...did you expect her to cook it for you? Shoot, she could have asked you...could you please go through the list and hire someone for that promotion that you applied for? Reorganizing isn't that difficult.

I'm confused. Btw corn can be eaten raw. I do it all the time during corn season.

LOL. "Some kind of farm animal". Who knows? Maybe that's the way you thank someone greatly where she's from! Accept the corn, go home, cook it, and eat it. Words to live by.
