To get back at my ex for cheating on me, I changed her auto-correct to change the word "an" to "buttsex" and the word "of" to "*****". She didn't notice til after she got her first paper back

Totally deserved it. You shouldn't use a word like "assess" 17 times in your senior thesis. I'm a freshman and I know that. I know a person who got an A+ on a college paper she rushed JUST because she misspelled "Public" and said "Pubic", who knows, you might get lucky and gain points?

I hope your thesis is at least fifty pages long because intending to use the word "assess" at least 17 times shows a pretty crappy vocabulary.

Just so you all know, spellcheck won't catch every wrong spelling and grammatical detail on an essay. Microsoft Word will not know the difference between "principal" and "principle" for example nor will it know if a sentence is 100% understandable. Best bet is to have somebody who has a better knowledge of english check it for you. Their understanding of the language will mean they can catch more problems in the essay that you nor the average person would find.
