You're supposed to stop whether there's other cars or not... If you really drove like that, what if you don't see the car, so out of force of habit, you dot stop because there's "no one" there. They wouldn't make it a law if it wasn't important. Do what you're supposed to.

That is a ****** up idea of causality. You got a ticket because you failed to obey the law, the highlighters had nothing to do with it.
You probably should have obeyed Traffic laws than worry about petty things. You could have hurt someone.
