The talk

By airplanes-suck - 21/08/2009 00:20 - United States

Today, I went on a plane and was sitting next to a mom with her 12-year-oldish daughter. Apparently, they decided to have "The talk." On the plane, right next to me. I heard everything, and actually learned new things. I'm 35. FML

A little sad, but I'm assuming it was an in depth discussion? 3:

12 and just now getting "the talk"?? That's nuts. Seriously. I also never really got that talk, either, though. My mom thought it was appropriate to give us a book about the human anatomy (basically a human biology book, not all about reproduction) to teach us about sex, and said "If you have any questions, just ask!" Of course we never asked (or at least I never did) because it was so over-loaded with so much information, and didn't even go into sex itself, it just talked about how eggs were fertilized and then started dividing. It completely skipped the actual HAVING sex part.

YDI for thinking "On the plane, right next to me." is a sentence.

that is pretty sad.. and kinda weird that the girls mom is teaching her daughter about stuff like that that not even a 35 year old knows lol

That sucks, but then again I feel worse for the daughter "Today, my mom had "the talk" with me, on a crowded airplane, fml."

And another person misuses the word "apparently!" This is getting really irritating!
