They're all yours

By anonymous - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I was having a garage sale and my mother-in-law came by to see what I was selling. She decided to buy these ugly green wine glasses that were still unopened. It turns out that she gave those to my wife and me when we got married. FML

It was an honest mistake. If they are ugly why not get rid of it? The OP and his wife must have disliked the set so they sold it. It probably hurt her but you have to lay down the law and toughen up.

yep grammatical error is right! to my wife and ME INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUN

She probably didn't care that much. Every time i am donating things to charity or selling them my parents are all, "We don't care if you want to get rid of stuff we got you, we won't be offended, there's no point in it sitting there just taking up space if you're not gonna use it, might as well let someone else who wants it have it!" It's not like your parents keep every single one of your drawings or handmade macaroni necklaces that you gave them back in the day. I'm sure her mom doesn't think you were trying to be rude or that you guys don't love her.

#17 FAIL! "my wife and me"? You obviously don't know grammar. The OP was right in the first place. It's "my wife and I" smart xxx LOL

Would you say she gave this to I???? NO! It's she gave this to me. OP was wrong and #17 was right.

One thing to learn about garage sales is NEVER let family/relatives come
