Thieves like us

Today, I found my checking and savings account to both read $0.00. My parents transferred all my money to theirs because "I'm irresponsible, and not fit to handle money." I'm a 3.8 college student and have a full-time job. They are currently unemployed. FML

Well are you 18 or older? If so, you should have to sign permissions for those things. Report it to your bank. If you're a minor, well, definitely FYL.

Okay, first of all: your life does indeed suck. That's terrible. Second of all: why do they have access to your account? Shut that down, bro.

Seems like a lot of FML's involve family members having access to personal accounts. YDI for being lazy about not keeping track of your finances, including account control. It's not difficult to walk to your branch & speak to an accounts manager. It's often the quicker solution than speaking to somebody over the phone.

yeah obviously not a minor since you can't have a full-time job under the age of 18 unless you declare yourself a drop out, child labor laws smart ones. also people keep their parents on their accounts so it's easier to send their child money during college. but it's sucks your parents would take your money like that.

Happened to me too. Although, mine was before I went off to college. Went to combine my bank accounts, mainly moving one from a credit union that was just savings to a checking that was with my name and my mom's. The savings account was with my dad's and stepmom's name on it too. My stepmom decided that my graduation money would pay the payment on my irresponsible sister's car...

how do you have a full time job and are currently unemployed dumb ass

and this is why I don't let my parents hav any way of accessing my accounts haha

YDI for being in college and still letting your parents have control over your account.

That's theft! You're a college student, you're over eighteen, so get your own bank account and sue them for the return of your money if they refuse to give it back to you. I bet you they're just using that as an excuse to cover for their own sloven behavior.

so why do they have access to your accounts??
