Today, my husband and I announced at a family get-together that I'm pregnant with our fourth child. My dad sighed, and spent the rest of the evening acting moody, and eventually muttering about how he'd raised a "damned broodmare." FML

Today, my wife and I convened our families for a joint dinner, followed by me breaking the news that my wife is pregnant. My father visibly scoffed, and my grandfather spent the rest of the evening muttering to him about how "breeders should be shot". Wonderful. FML

Today, after my wife gave birth to another of our daughters, she announced that this was the last one. When I reminded her I still needed a son to carry on my name, she replied, "Well, you've got four girls. You want a boy? Birth him yourself!" FML

Today, my husband and I told my parents that I finally managed to conceive. My mom burst into tears of joy and said how great it was that she's finally going to be a "real" grandma, all within earshot of our adopted and now-devastated daughter. FML

Um, it's not his choice on how many children you want/plan to have. He's your father and may be upset, but it's inappropriate for him to act that way during a special and happy moment you and your husband are sharing with him. Actually, he shouldn't be upset. He should be happy for you and your hubby. Don't let his moodiness get the best of you guys. Congratulations on the pregnancy. :)

People are acting like OP and her husband are the Duggards with 20+ kids (and counting). Leave OP alone and rant about overpopulation to the Duggards. It's weird how no one has mentioned them, or Octomom, or John and Kate Plus 8; but yes, OP is the one at fault for overpopulation.

It's a little late for that, don't ya think? Maybe she should consider adoption if she decides she wants a fifth child, but she's already got the fourth one coming. Unless you're suggesting she abort a pregnancy she clearly wants just to adopt another kid?

I heard some people like having large families. I find the thought that I could have been born into a family with more siblings than just my older brother, who at times drove me to the point that I wanted to literally kill him, more scary than anything Stephen King ever wrote!

You know i wouldn't about people having kid they are the joy of our lives i would be more about the people that can work but don't go out and get a job. just sit around and say that not for me or would not work for mim. wage a job is a job no matter how money it is. OP congrat don't let these fools deter you and your husband joy of life. Its dumb ass that want the world to themselves.
