Today, after 3 long hours of mowing the lawn with a rusty lawn mower, my dad finally decided to tell me that he didn't get any money out to pay me with. The reason? He didn't think girls could mow a lawn and was expecting me to give up. FML

I like this post. While at first it appears the standard light&trite... the significance of quite a big contemporary issue crops up. Dear OP, I say overall FYL. Strictly pertaining to the post; not any extraneous degrees of work in-family vs. perceived just-compensation and/or obligation associated with such(/gasp), any deed done under the contract of monetary reward should be paid due upon completion... you got scammed by pops. No matter the degree of jesting or seriousness he meant for his excuse for not paying you as, it's still a beautiful day-to-day example of what's in store for you as a female. Simply put, and generalized for the sake&severity of post: keep it up. In it's own way, again, it's a lovely day-to-day example of what you can do, when told you couldn't. And not just because of or despite it, to boot. Simplified version of "doing what can't be done"? Living; not just existing. Keep it up, and welcome to the front:-)

Extremely sexist of him. For that, he should buy you dinner, give you the money you deserve, and write a research paper on sexism. Also, take a college course on feminisim. Your father is an idiot. I played football and wrestling and my dad wanted me to play. I also was in machine shop class and did better than most of the guys in my class. I hate sexist people, we need more feminist education.
