Today, after 3 long hours of mowing the lawn with a rusty lawn mower, my dad finally decided to tell me that he didn't get any money out to pay me with. The reason? He didn't think girls could mow a lawn and was expecting me to give up. FML

When I was I kid I had to cut the lawn with a knife, feed all the farm animals, and clean the toilet, sinks, and dishes with my toothbrush. And I expected no payment, just bread and water.

Maybe the OP was going to do it anyways but her dad offered her money. If you get offered something, you don't usually expect them to go back on their word.
