Today, after all of the business cards for the car dealership that I work for were printed, the phone number was wrong, and the lady got so pissed about getting so many calls that she told them that they had won a free car. I had to tell dozens of ecstatic customers that they hadn't. FML

F the woman's life. Imagine getting hundred "wrong number" calls a day - and you can't just ignore them because otherwise you'd miss the two important/personal calls you are expecting.

You should get about a thousand toy cars from the dollar store and give them to anyone that comes in for a "free car". Problem solved! Next time check the number before you print the cards!

That sucks for both you and the woman - it doesn't sound really like you did the cards wrong, but have to deal with the issue that pops up - and the woman, I hope your dealership is planning to apologize in some way, like a dinner certificate to a restaurant or gift card to compensate for her inconvenience.

You didn't verify the phone number before giving out the cards? That is all on you.

When you noticed the number being wrong didn't you take note that when it's given out should be its incorrect and then write the correct number on the back or something?

That is why you should always proofread.
