Today, after an entire year spent in physical therapy recovering from three knee surgeries, I finally returned to doing light agility exercises and running on a treadmill. When I told my therapist I had never been so happy and proud, he responded with, "This usually only takes 5 months, pussy." FML

Asshole much? Maybe time to switch therapists.... Also, grats on recovery!!

Time to take that next step, OP. Put those legs to use and get that foot up his ass.

Well it may not all be physical, mental health can also be linked with your recovery. Not to mention any other complications. Still you made the effort to get back into it so just keep going but this time give an exponentially increasing amount of effort.

After three knee surgeries, I would have to say a year seems pretty good.

**** what he says! I think as long you put the effort into getting better, any improvement is an accomplishment you should be proud of. So what if takes other people 5 months? They aren't you. I'm proud of you Op! Way to go man!

We each heal at our own speed. Be proud you pushed through 3 knee surgeries and the physical therapy that goes with it. He's an ass and I would report him to his supervisor or the company.

Fire the therapist and engage someone who will be more positive and motivational.

And I can tell your therapist is clearly as equally proud as you are, OP.

I would probably take the same pace if I were you if not longer, OP. It's way better to take things slowly rather than rush the healing progress and risk messing up the knee forever. Too bad your therapist's too much of an asshat to see that.

I hate surgery. it sucks you had to get three of them done. if I were u id report the therapist to his boss and get a new one. #YOLO

I hope he was just kidding with you, especially after knowing you for a year. If not, FYL since nobody deserves that attitude from anyone. Either way, I am glad that there is a huge improvement on your recovery process, OP!

Me thinks there's more to this FML where the OP didn't do as much home therapy as he should have....hence the longer recovery time. If I'm wrong, then I agree that it was very unprofessional of the therapist to make that remark.
