Anyone calling this guy a pedophile is a ******* idiot. 17 is not a prepubescent child, and that's what pedophiles are attracted to. By 17 most males and females are physically developed enough to look like adults. There is no physical difference between 17 and 18, or even sometimes 20+ for that matter. Secondly, why does everyone assume that he must be an older guy? What if the OP is about 18-19 himself? He was disappointed about the guy's gender, not his age. Another thing, the age of consent in most states and countries worldwide is around 16(which makes the Dateline comments irrelevant.) So if you think finding a 16-17 attractive is pedophilia, then you're gonna be sad to know that it's totally legal in most places. OP- You deserve it for wasting money on someone you didn't even see or hear. I have nothing against online dating if you actually get to know the person. You apparently didn't, which makes you stupid and undeserving of any sympathy.
