Today, after calling the insurance plan for my new iPhone a "huge waste of money", I promptly dropped it in the store while trying to put it into my pocket, cracking the screen. FML

That's why you never take the chance with an iPhone. You can do that with a Nokia, not iphone

I love all these iPhone comments. Androids aren't much cheap. Example iPhone 5 $650 galaxy s4 $630 htc one $580 Samsung galaxy note 2 $680. Insurance is a waste. Htc and Samsung give you a one year warranty that doesn't cover cracks but its the same deductible that your carrier is charging. You're just paying them to be a middle man. Apple care is worth getting but paying insurance from your carrier isn't.

That is why I pay 6 dollar extra for insurance on my phone and I don't mind it. I have a 15 month old who takes my phone when I am not looking. Rather be safe then sorry about it later. I think I had drop my phone like 10-20 times already since I got it... No damage so far the last 9 months.

I seem to have issues with all my cell phones but that sucks. hope you can have the screen fixed. I use and android and for the first time ever bought insurance for it and an otter box case (couldn't get the case off when I needed to, then it fell about 6 inches at most on to a carpeted area and the case got a small crack in it) iphone, android, any of them seem to be the most cheaply made phones on the planet and expensive as hell to buy and fix.

Sorry about your luck... But way to go poo-hands

Can't be as bad as my co-worker who has managed to crack the front and/or back of her phone at least 5 times within a year.

Its not a waste of money! I work at radioshack and cracked screens are insanely common. I would have laughed too! Don't be rude to someone trying to help you!

Completely wrong... T-mobile charges $175 for full replacement on the iPhone 5 with the insurance plan, even if the phone is stolen. It will not extend your contract at all. Based on the monthly charge it would take you over 5 years before you would spend less on the phone then the insurance. (of course your provider may suck and not have good insurance however)

For an Iphone you ALWAYS get the insurance plan. The screen cracks too easily! YDI
