Today, after coming back from work, I panicked as I noticed that my rabbit was having a hard time breathing. So I went straight to the vet. I paid 40€ for him to tell me that he had hiccups. FML

You are a great owner though. Taking the bunny in right away.

Aww, at least your bunny was okay! I wish more people were like you, OP.

I know all animals probably can (except fish? Maybe?) but I'd be scared too if my cat just started having hiccups

I've never seen my bun have hiccups, would probably freak me out too! But it's always better to be safe and get quick care for rabbits. They hide their symptoms so well, and can deteriorate so fast. Little buggers don't understand how delicate they are.

Better to be safe than sorry! I freak out at the slightest things with my Guinea pigs!

I once raced my ferrets to the vets crying all the way, and I didn't have a car at the time so was speed walking through town with everyone giving me weird looks. I thought she was having trouble breathing, turned out she probably had choked on her food momentarily then swallowed it

It seems like a nuisance, but just imagine if you ignored it and something was actually wrong? You would have paid more than 40€
