What is it with moms really? My mom accused me of being lesbo because I have too much girl friends. What even...
But if you have too many guy friends you'd be a ****... Lose lose. :(
She just cares about you a lot. I'm on year 5 of an eating disorder and I really wish my parents had caught it at the beginning Still, that must be annoying though
Being almost obese impacts your health too and should be taken seriously. OP's mom is not right here. OP don't give in.
i agree with no name. in on year 8 and no one in my family has even noticed. at least she shows interest and that she pays attention to you.
Same whenever I wasn't in the mood for meat, dad thought I was dieting and starving myself. Parents...
To be fair, obesity (or close to) is often associated with eating disorders Maybe your mum has/had an eating disorder and is just really worried because she knows how dangerous they are.?
Well at least she is looking out for you but yeah seems a bit excessive
first of all. very cool that you are trying to diet. I'm big and the earlier you start the easier it is. second, I'd say just go to the shrink because they might help you with the diet when it gets rough or identify the moments that you eat more and have something to help you with. and third of all what your mom said sucked, just let it go
And they may be able to help you with dealing with your dramatic mother.
I mean yeah it sucks but at least you know she cares on some level. Just be safe OP, dieting can sometimes spin out of control and into an eating disorder. I was obese as a child, went on a diet, and within a year was full-on anorexic and stayed that way for 10 years. If your mom had an eating disorder it might be why she's freaking out. But, as long as you're losing weight in a healthy way, good job for taking the initiative to get healthy :)
I know how you feel. don't let her get in the way of your health. my mom used to do the same thing, and she made it harder for me to reach my goal. don't give up op, she loves you but she just loves you too much.

Sounds like your mum needs to see a therapist as well.
Sounds like a more extreme version of my mom. When I was younger and tried to diet, my mom always thought i was starving myself.
