Today, after mourning and making my girlfriend cancel her big birthday party, I found out my grandma didn't actually die. FML

That's messed up. For one you shouldn't have "made" your gf cancel her b-day plans, and for two you should be happy she's alive. Geez what a douche.

Dagnabbit! That's exactly what I was thinking.

Oh! Or Grandma could have been setting up for the best prank of all time, where she 'appears' at the foot of OP's bed every night!! Maybe she could walk through the house every so often while the rest of the family pretends they can't see her...

YDI for making your girlfriend cancel her party.

You ought to give Grandma five bucks or so for helping you pull off that ruse so you could weasel out of getting your girlfriend an expensive birthday gift. Don't worry, Grandma's going to peg out any day now, so you are going to get your five bucks back pretty soon. Genius!

See OP? Perdix has the right idea! Look on the bright side!

Next time they tell you your grandmother is dead you'll probably laugh at it like its a joke...

what would your grandma dying have anything to do with HER party?? and ydi for not checking your facts.

Your grandmother is alive, and you missed a date? Oh my god, your world is crumbling! Boo ******* hoo, you schmuck. No matter the circumstance behind the misunderstanding, you should be happy about it rather than crying about it here. You won't get sympathy here because you don't deserve any. ******* whiny brat.

I know you feel like shit for making your girlfriend cancel her shindig, and you should. Why would you do that? You are selfish! It would've been something to cheer you up during your mourning too. Again, you are selfish; be happy she didn't dump you.
