Today, I found out that my grandmother desecrated my grandfather's grave. 14 years after his death, she dug up his body and had him cremated so that she could sell his plot back to the cemetery for money. I was the one who found out so I had to tell the rest of the family. FML

How long were you "mourning"? And why did your gf have to cancel her big party? Did you tell her "I'm sad so tell all your friends and family it's off"? You sound like a complete idiot and I can't help thinking YDI. If someone tells me a family member is dead, I don't normally question the veracity but I also wouldn't start rearranging my schedule until I had more information. I also wouldn't have anyone cancel an event others were invited to under any circumstances. You could have just begged off.
