Today, after saving up for weeks, I bought myself an iPad. Because mine is better than the one my parents bought my ten-year-old brother, he got pissed and threw it into our pool. I'm now grounded for getting angry and calling him a bastard in the aftermath. FML

I really don't think that you have to do anything here. If he's already got a sense of entitlement like that at his age he'll be a complete douchenozzle by the time he's an adult. He's doomed.

If that were me he'd be a dead bastard! Little prick!

And people wonder why I don't mind being an only child.

Your parents clearly are the one-sided type that play favorites with their children. Sorry OP. :(

You may well find that if you allow it to dry out for a very long time (say a couple of weeks) in a warm place before you recharge it then it may well be OK. The water in fresh-water pools is not highly conductive and the voltage is low so it may not have caused permanent damage. Your brother sounds like a spoiled brat and could do with being taught some respect for other people & their belongings. You should certainly have his ipad until yours is fixed.

Fair call. I personally would have called him worse than a bastard. Kudos to your willpower to not blow up at him more, and definitely FYL.
