Just guessing, but it's probably something to do more with getting off on overpowering and humiliating someone. I'd guess that the BF either did it in high school and enjoyed the bulling because it gave him a power trip, or had it done to him and is sort of fantasizing about it as some sort of revenge, or form of taking the power back. But of course, there's not enough info to actually know.
