Today, as I left the supermarket, I found someone had hit my car in the parking lot. There was a note tucked under the wipers. Insurance details? Nope. It just said "Sorry dude. I fucked up. Good luck with the car." Great. FML

"I'm just writing this because someone saw and I want to make it look like I'm giving you my details. Have fun with repairs!"

Classic "pretend to write a note so I'm not suspicious" move. People will do anything to get out of trouble. Sorry, OP.

Ask the store if they have any footage of who hit your car.

At least he did something but still sorry OP

If the US is anything like England you should contact the store and see if they have any CCTV footage for the car park area where your own car was. In addition check the streets around the exit to see if there are any CCTV cameras that may have picked up a car with obvious collision damage leaving the scene between the time that you left your car and returned to it

Some people are so desperate to get out of trouble... that guy sounds like he's some 16 year old with an IQ of a shoe...

Right there with the others suggesting checking if the store has cameras.. chances are you can obtain proof and nail his butt to the wall. it is illegal in the States to leave the scene of an accident without police checking, if there are damages.

See if the supermarket has cameras on the parking lot. If they do and your car is in the footage, go to the security and get the police involved. That's not right.

All in all, sounds like a cool dude. A bitch about the insurance thing

No note would have been better. How rude

Ask a store manager to see surveillance footage.

At least he apologized... Sort of...
