Nobody wants painted pottery for Christmas. Yeah, that was still pretty rude of her though, regardless of whether or not she knew it was for her.

I have gotten some ugly pottery from friends. I have a pink polka dot elephant with crooked eyes on a table in my room. I love that thing. I think weird stuff like that is awesome and you have a great conversational piece to remember them by. Even if it were ugly, people should be thankful someone cared enough about them to make an attempt. I would prefer ugly pottery to a gift card, because at least I know someone cared enough about me. That is really what Xmas is about, family, friends, and loving one another. tl;dr: Hilariously bad pottery is great, especially from friends you love. Christmas should be about the thoughts and efforts people put in, not the pathetic attempt at commercialization.
