Today, at my grandmother's funeral, my senile grandfather kept asking me "Where's granny? I've been looking for her, but I can't find her." FML

How are you even supposed to answer that? Like you have to keep breaking terrible news. I'm so sorry OP, FYL

So sorry for your loss OP, hopefully you'll come up something on how to tell your grandfather.

Thats so sad, Im so sorry for your loss. Like others have said may get your grandfather tested for Alzheimers - Ive had a grandmother with it, and my other grandmother had minimal short term memory loss. My aunt is losing her short term memory - she cant remember her husband passing away 2 years ago

:( that broke my heart. I'm so sorry for your loss OP

I almost cried just reading that. I'm sorry for your loss and I'm sorry you have to go through telling him over again. I'm sure it's heartbreaking for everyone. hope things get better for you.

I'm sorry for your loss! :( I hope your grandfather will be okay.

How sad. My grandpa was senile in the end, and very sick, but he too kept looking for my grandmother. I know it sounds bad to say you should lie to your grandfather, but I used to say "that's okay grandpa, I'll go find her." and then go fetch him a cup of tea or something, and be gone for a few minutes. He sometimes forgot that he'd asked about her. I'm sorry for your loss OP. Hang in there. There are brighter days ahead

So very sad. This is why my research is focused on understanding and ameliorating neurodegenerative conditions. I hope one day my work will help. I'm sorry for your loss, and the sadness that comes with a family member with dementia.

Thats really sad, there is no love story like 2 people growing old together
