Today, at my job as a lifeguard, the kids in the pool decided to start a new game. The game involved spreading out to different parts of the pool and pretending to be drowning at the same time. Whoever was "saved" first, won. FML

Can't you kick them out of the pool? In essence, it is like a person dialing 911 as a joke. And another person could have actually been drowning while you were preoccupied by their stupid game.

hell no it's not I get paid 13 dollars an hour to sit down watching people swim haha best job ever but it would be better if no one came to te pool... and if you're wondering why I make so much it's cause I live I Chicago and I work for the city

I am also a lifeguard so think even if he wasn't the only one on duty he has to jump in unnecessarily because kids are pretending to drown it still takes away from the ability to save someone actually drowning if you are preoccupied

If you were really a lifeguard then you wouldn't be blaming the guard/making excuses for the children. Imagine what this guard must have felt in this situation. Whether he looked stupid or not, manipulating a professional is both irresponsible and dangerous.

I'm not making excuses for the kids I would have kicked them out but If I was a lifeguard at this pool the kids would have never done this the Job of this lifeguard is too prevent things from happening it's his fault for having to jump in if he was a good lifeguard he would have known who wa a good swimmer and who wasn't and whoever wasn't a good swimmer should not have been permited to swim in the deep end people who aren't lifeguards Perot know shit about being one shouldn't be talking end of story gtfo

exactly if they knew they could swim then he should've known they were messing with him but he obviously wasn't paying attention to their swimming ability therefore he's a bad lifeguard
