Today, at school, I got in trouble for plagiarizing on a paper. The subject of said paper was where I see myself in ten years. FML

Maybe try talking to the teacher about how ridiculous it is to get accused of plagiarism when the topic is so limited anyways?

I can sympathize. One time in middle school I wrote a history paper and worded it so well the teacher wouldn't believe that I didn't plagiarize.

Do you have an older sibling who attended the same school and has the same aspirations as you?

Even if this is the case, they can't call it plagiarizing. There's very little you can do that has not already been done. Plagiarizing where you see yourself in the future is nearly impossible.

Taking credit for someone else's words or ideas is the definition of plagiarism. I've had students plagiarize this topic. :)

Another student writing on the same topic my ring a bell with the teacher and "kneejerk reaction" call it plagiarizing.

Do you happen to dream to one day live in a nation where your kids wont be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character?

I got in trouble for plaigirizing today. lol

You must share a similar goal with someone...which isn't always a bad thing but this screwed you over

My teacher uses a website that checks for plagiarism and one time this website said I plagiarized some stuff when I never even had heard of the website it came from... Those websites suck

I saw something where the persons teacher ran the paper through a plagiarism website. The website claimed he plagiarized his own name. Those things are bullshit.

it's still possible to plagiarize in that assignment

I had a teacher who avoided plagiarism in writing assignments by always saying we had to include random things in there that he just pulled out of his hat at the time. Like one writing assignment, I remember, we had to start with a descriptive paragraph; there had to be dialogue; there had to be a government building in there somewhere; and there had to be a beach involved. Pretty hard to find a paper online that includes stuff like that. But that's such a generic writing topic it's going to be hard to find something to say that no one has ever said before. Were they able to show you a copy of the paper you allegedly plagiarized? How similar was it?
