Today, at school, I got stuck in the elevator and was about to panic before I remembered I had my phone. I called my mother and she called the school to tell them that I was stuck. They got me out in a few minutes and then confiscated my phone and gave me two detentions for using it in school. FML

Have the schools head on a platter for unreasonable treatment. This was an emergency situation in which you had no other choice. You were not disrupting a class or using it for conversation. Maybe you could have pushed the emergency call button in the elevator, but that's no excuse for the school's actions.

Doesn't elevators come with emergency ring and intercom?

i live in Pennsylvania and this happened to my friend too. except she was hurt and in the bathroom at school and called her mom. her mom called the nurse to go get her. she did. and when she got there she took her phone and gave her detentions for using it in school.

That's such bs that schools do that. I can understand banning the use of cell phones in the classroom and such, but there should be exceptions in situations like these.

I wouldve pressed charges for not keeping their elevators serviceable... wait, your school has elevators? f()ck my life. we didn't.

thats rediculos how were u supposed to get out of there anyway???

dunno about your school but my school elevator is only allowed to be used by those in wheelchairs, for whatever reason (mentally crippled, 2 broken legs, etc.) even if you had a broken leg at my school but could use crutches, you'd just have to suck it up and take the huge ass ramp behind the lockers. elevators are not just for lazy people so everyone stfu and even IF this is a fake FML (not saying it is or isn't) do you really care? it's just the internet people, damn...

uh you really deserve it if you actually gave them your phone.

A teacher once tried to confiscate my phone and I refused, saying it was my property and he wasn't getting his hands on it. My brother told me never to let a teacher take my phone, they have no right. The teacher was highly pissed off, but funnily enough he couldn't do shit about it.

umm if your school has rules of banning phone then you have to surrender the phone because by coming to school u are agreeing to obey the school rules and hence by doing such act the school has the right to confiscate your phone and your 'right to property' speech would go out of the window. its pretty simmilar to the rules of bringing outside food to the multiplexes or owning narcotics. you were lucky your teacher was stupid :).
