Today, at the age of 23, I brought my boyfriend over to meet my parents. My father swabbed his mouth for DNA and fingerprinted him. FML

kelbel89 tells us more.

Hey guys. This is the full scoop. My father is about 5'9'' and my boyfriend is 6'4''. My dad was going to intimidate him in anyway he could. He started the night off by answering the door and telling my BF that I was out on my real date for the night. Obviously, my dad has a very dry sense of humor. I don't think he was actually going to send what he collected to a lab, but he didn't crack a smile the whole time it was going on. I tried to stop him, multiple times, at which point my dad said that my boyfriend was lucky he couldn't find any latex gloves that day because it meant he was going to have to skip the prostate exam. My mother was there and thought it was hilarious. My boyfriend is wonderful and rolled with the punches. He took it very well and we are still together. :) Many of you asked if my dad works in law enforcement. Nope, he's just a Texan (which I feel I should point out my boyfriend is not). My father is incredibly proud of himself, I think even more so now that so many of the comments were in his favor. I was, and still am, absolutely mortified.

Just looking out for you. It could be worse. He couldn't give a damn about you.

Either your dads a cop or just paranoid, it's good to know he cares though right?

Your dad is awesome! I agree that it is a akward situation but it could have been worse. Your dad could have shown your boyfriend his gun collection and asked him which gun he would prefer to be shot with if he ever decided to hurt you.

Two things. 1) Your dad is awesome. I'm taking notes for when my daughters are old enough to date. 2) Your b/f is a coward for not standing up for himself and simply refusing. Your dad probably would have been more impressed with a guy who was willing to stand his ground

i am mortified that so many of you agree with the dad. do you really think that is a sensibpe way to act around someone new? i am a parent too and i would never act this way to my sons girlfriends. i want my son to be able to come to me if soemthing happens not be terrified that i will beat the shit out of his girlfriend.

I think we all hope you wouldn't beat the shit out of any girl. This is one of those obvious double standards. The entire situation changes when you reverse the genders. You're honestly comparing apples to oranges...

My dad did the same to some of my older sisters boyfriends. It was weird haha

Next time, just say no! Tell your boyfriend he has to stand up for himself - your dad should respect it him for it. Unless he's a very angry chap?

Is your dad Detective Stabler from Law and Order SVU?

Your dad is just looking out for you (maybe in a very peculiar way), but you never know... Better safe than sorry!
