Hey guys. This is the full scoop. My father is about 5'9'' and my boyfriend is 6'4''. My dad was going to intimidate him in anyway he could. He started the night off by answering the door and telling my BF that I was out on my real date for the night. Obviously, my dad has a very dry sense of humor. I don't think he was actually going to send what he collected to a lab, but he didn't crack a smile the whole time it was going on. I tried to stop him, multiple times, at which point my dad said that my boyfriend was lucky he couldn't find any latex gloves that day because it meant he was going to have to skip the prostate exam. My mother was there and thought it was hilarious. My boyfriend is wonderful and rolled with the punches. He took it very well and we are still together. :) Many of you asked if my dad works in law enforcement. Nope, he's just a Texan (which I feel I should point out my boyfriend is not). My father is incredibly proud of himself, I think even more so now that so many of the comments were in his favor. I was, and still am, absolutely mortified.

I'm a Texan too, and so is my dad and he would never do that. Don't use being a Texan as an excuse, most of them wouldn't do that.
And yet you feel qualified to speak for "most" Texans? Out of the 26 million people who live in our great state, I assure you, you have no idea what most of them would do.
just by your words I feel like I should avoid texas
Me and my family are Texans and I still find that pretty odd lol
I'm a Texan, and in reality, I know a lot of people who are like this. My uncle is the same way with his daughter. It scares my family from out of state.. xD But, I don't think its right for any of us to speak for All Texans. After all, everyone is different.
I'm also Texan. What part are you from?
it's not just Texans...I'm a cali girl and my daughter, although I have nothing to worry about since she is yet to be 3, id be the most intimidating mother I could be to protect her from the assholes of modern society
I doubt most of them would do that. In fact you're the first person I've ever heard with a story like that. It wouldn't have mattered where you guys were from. I just don't get why you're using that as an excuse. It's stupid to say stuff like that, it's not like that's a normal occurrence, it would still be weird but if your dad actually was a cop then that would be a better excuse. You've just generalized all Texans as crazy people who are going to finger print their children's boyfriends and that's stupid. We already get enough shit as it is.
Well at least you bf didn't take off and never talk with ya again. Like you said still happily together and hope things work out for the two of you. Who knows you might have a long and happy marriage if you still feel that way after awhile and when your both ready. Good luck whatever may come.
Your dad is awesome! And you're a lucky girl to have him. :-)
I can understand why you are mortified. While it is a great thing having parents with a sense of humor, things like this absolutely suck. Embarassing you like this is only funny for your dad, especially when you made it clear that this is NOT funny for you or your friend.
well if you live with them it might be time to move out. If however you were just doing the whole "come meet my parents thing", that sucks and you should sit down with your parents that if this is how they treat your BF's you won't bring them over again. And next time try having everyone to your place, keep the home field advantage.
Oh plz her dad cares abt her alot
I think pandalover needs to get her panties untwisted. It was just a general statement that her dad was Texan, stop being such a bitch about it no one was talking about you. And I highly doubt you'd know how your ENTIRE state is so stfu
actually she said her dad is a Texan and that he's proud of himself, ******* read you dumb ****
AWWW That really is so sweet that your dad cares that much about you.
Aaaand you let him. Should have left.
Cant be too careful these days and actually, what if they find something? Just saying.
Your poor boyfriend he must of been terrified. xD
I've had similar experiences with dads of past ex's. Its hard to take them punches without busting off. I say congrats for your bf being able to do the same. Dads can be brutal. haha
not many guys will stick around for that, he REALLY likes you
Terrible thing?? I dare you to watch the first one & take a shot each time Liam Neeson throat chops someone. If you're conscious at the end, I'll allow you to call it a terrible thing that there will be a 3rd without harassing you! Haha!!

Just looking out for you. It could be worse. He couldn't give a damn about you.
Either your dads a cop or just paranoid, it's good to know he cares though right?
