Today, at university I was tearing off some "Help Japan" posters off the wall, figuring that they have been up for a while. Just as a group of visiting Japanese reporters passed by. FML

facepalmface tells us more.

I wasn't actually "tearing" them down, I was gently pulling them off the wall to put them inside the classes instead. It was awkward nonetheless, hope this clears things up.

Why were you tearing them down? Unless it's part of your job, it's not really your decision if it's been long enough.

Run. That's too difficult to explain to a probably angry group of Japanese reporters.

Rebelling against what? Helping those in need? Yeah, I sure wish I'd thought of that.

that's awkward. good job making yourself look like an ass.

Am I the only one to think that, perhaps, he didn't say is in such a wonderfully nice way? No matter WHAT you say, HOW you say it makes a huge difference. Or they were just bitchy. That's life.

The FML doesn't say anything about OP talking to the visitors.

Lol horrible luck, you should of tried to act like you were putting them up.

They will give you an evil fortune cookie... Be careful

33 - fortune cookies are Chinese, so... How ignorant are you?

Actually the Japanese invented cookies with fortunes in it during the 18th century. How ignorant of you.

The Japanese cookies are called tsujiura senbei and the fortune was actually not inside the cookie, but lodged in the bended part of the cookie. Fortune cookies as we know them know are Chinese, served in chinese restaurants and so forth. Mainly in the US though. I used to live in Tokyo, and I'm pretty sure it's only in Kyoto they serve a sort of fortune cookies. Basically, it's become a kind of western thing, though introduced and popularised by Asia.
