Today, at university I was tearing off some "Help Japan" posters off the wall, figuring that they have been up for a while. Just as a group of visiting Japanese reporters passed by. FML

facepalmface tells us more.

I wasn't actually "tearing" them down, I was gently pulling them off the wall to put them inside the classes instead. It was awkward nonetheless, hope this clears things up.

Why were you tearing them down? Unless it's part of your job, it's not really your decision if it's been long enough.

Run. That's too difficult to explain to a probably angry group of Japanese reporters.

Did that make you feel kinda funny like when you climbed the rope in gym class?

You deserved it. Disasters don't resolve just with time. I hope those reporters told you exactly what they thought. Think twice next time.

All japanese people carry cameras, doesn't mean they're reporters.

you shouldn't be taking them down anyway! stupid dick. you deserve whatever embarassment you felt at that moment. you should've felt shame

While you're at, it tell all the ascotiations trying to help feed and give clean water to African children to stop because they've been doing it for a while.

Oh dear god this is the worst thing ever! I mean really big deal. I live in Arkansas and was doing a report on the KKK for history class. So I was carrying books around About the KKK and got called out by a black student. You dont see me crying about it do you?

and who are you to tear down those posters?

it sickens me that so many of you find this funny or are hung up on this guy taking down posters with out permission. how about some respect for the thousands of lives lost and destroyed? I live in japan and the people here are the nicest most honorable people I have met in the world when they had lost everything including their families they were still taping money to the counter of abandoned stores before taking what the needed! they have faced horrible destruction and some asshole college kid is tired of looking at a poster?

I don't think anyone's trying to diminish the tragedy Japan endured and is still dealing with. I for one pointed out that if it wasn't his job to take down posters, he had no business deciding if a poster had been up long enough, and then he wouldn't have gotten into this situation in the first place.

I understand what both you two are saying, but it seems highly unlikely that this guy was just tearing down public posters because he personally was tired of them, he probably had some sort of permission or authorization. And maybe he was going to put up posters to help another cause, because although what happened to Japan was really horrid, Japan is not the only country suffering from problems...

I live in Japan too, but I understand that aid posters tend not to stay up forever. It's been about nine months now, and there have been other major disasters in other areas since. While it's great that aid and support is still coming from some sources, it's pretty natural for things to slow down once the immediate danger is gone. There is nothing disrespectful about that.
