Maybe he only had £1.89 to spend
Bitches and hose...
Yeah, now take the 10 cents over a hundred thousand customers and do the math. He did the right thing, your store is technically committing a crime by over charging. In the US he would get the item for free because of this.
Good thing he's not in the US then isn't it? Sounds like the shop showed the right price and he was just trying to pull a fast one.
That's... not true at all. As a retail worker in the US, I can confirm that you don't just get an item free for being "overcharged" and it's also not illegal.
It's human error, not illegal. Besides, it was a different staff's fault with the pricing not mine. Till's don't update automatically.
Aren't all your price tags different to the actual price anyway?
I get that it's the principle and shops should honour what the product is marked at. But 10p on a busy day??? Really??? It's this sort of thing that makes me hate working in retail.
That happened to me at work for 76¢ off a clearance dress ?
As a cashier I would've just marked it down and saved myself from the hassle or just called the manager and pulled him off to the side so the manager could handle him and you could take care of all the other customers. These people aren't worth your time or energy and when other people see how well you can handle a situation like that they're likely to shop again since they know you won't keep others waiting long.
I couldn't, I'd have to get a supervisor to void the transaction first. It's technology, it sucks.
Sorry, I meant a garden hose end, like, the top?
All the tills were open, it was our busiest day and we have 9 tills, all of which were filled with long ques. I need a manager or supervisor to change the price of it, whilst getting someone from the department to check the price, as I'm not allowed to leave my till. All of you saying this have clearly never worked in retail. I had no money on me as it is not allowed, yes he did get 10p of the hose head, and we were extremely busy. Please try working in retail before you think you know it all! :*

Is it just me or does £1.89 seem incredibly cheap for a garden hose?
I take it you've never worked retail.
