that little scammer
couldn't you prove it was yours??
OP - This is why you don't keep purses at the tills.
what a wackadoo!!!! and #9 where do you get checkout people can't have money on them?????? I work as a checker at a grocery store and there is NOTHING saying we can't have money on us!!!!!!! in fact one day my manager had to pay me some money because my check was misplaced by corperate for vacation pay- I had $600 cash on me...........
Can't have money on you - false. Can't have a PURSE at the till? - True. Why is it true? 1. You could potentially steal money from the till and put it into your purse. (Unfortunately, I've seen that done, and that was before our store implemented the no purse rule. 2. This could happen.
if you had definitive proof it was yours tell her to call the cops and watch her attempt to describe it to them
Kungfu kick that old bint.
Old lady places her purse on the counter. Old lady looks elsewhere to load groceries. Cashier sees "her" purse on the counter. Cashier takes it. This happens. Make certain that didn't just happen before you smugly get her to call the cops.

wow I would have been really upset.. see what happens when you do nice things for people you don't know..
That's how old people survive! What they have lost in physical prowess (with men, it's strength; with women, beauty), they have to make up for in craftiness and cunning. The elderly who don't have these skills die off, but the ones that can con young people out of their money are indeed the fittest. Look at Social Security: We can only hope to live long enough to shake down the younger generation as much as we're being shaken now!
