Today, at work, I took an order from a stuck-up sounding lady over the phone. She said her last name was "duckling, but with an F". Bemused, I wrote her name on the order. When she arrived to pick it up later, she told me she'd said "s", not "f". FML

Why couldn't she just say her last name was Suckling?

By stuck up sounding, do you mean she had a lisp?...that's the only way I think that'd be misconstrued.

Suckling and Fuckling? Her husband must be pleased

My friend's last name is Suckling. They're from Dunedin.

The name only sounds strange to English speakers. If the name is from any other language then it's just a name.

That's when you ask someone to spell. 'F as in Frog?' And then you don't end up with mistakes like this. :)
