oh my gosh haha
I've always been bad with names, so you have my sympathy. Just start to say something, then look horrified and embarrassed, and stammer out, "Oh god, I'm so ashamed, I'm blanking on it...what's your name again?" When they say it, laugh, repeat it a few times, and say something like, "I'm so sorry, you must think I'm an idiot, but I've always been bad with names and it's so embarrassing!" Usually by then folks will have forgiven you and moved on and maybe even think you're charming if a bit daffy. And if they don't forgive you, screw 'em.
I'm terrible with names and faces. At my job I have vendors I've worked with for months and I don't know their names still. If it wasn't for name tags we wear, I wouldn't know the names of half the people I work with. But YDI as would I if the situation happened to me.
don't sweat it, the school year is almost over and I still don't know half of the peoples names in my classes
You could of asked "What's your name?" and then the other person would answer offendedly then you could say "No! I meant your last name. I already knew your first name." It's more accepted to forget someones last name:
pretty sure I've heard this on before !
well at least now you know.. :)

that's kinda your fault!! ydi
Why would you be paired with someone who's not new? That seems counterproductive.
