Why wasn't she vaccinated? Sever scaring and possible brain damage from fever could forever damage her.
Agreed this was preventable
It is possible to contract it even with the vaccine. It isn't foolproof.
Uk doesnt vaccinate for chicken pox. Not everyone lives in the us.
It's a 2 stage vaccine. You aren't fully protected until after you get the second dose(at age 5). It could be that OP's daughter isn't old enough for the second dose yet(that's how I got chicken pox at 3.5 yrs old)
OP is from UK. We don't vaccinate for Chicken Pox here.
my daughter had an allergic reaction to her shots and now the doctors won't vaccinate her. some kids just can't get them or they aren't old enough for the certain ones.
Have all the adults in the house had the chicken pox already? Because she's young it likely won't be bad for her. If you get it that would be much more of an FML.
On the bright side, she isn't contagious now that the rash is presenting!
Yes, she is. The fluid in the pustules has a high concentration of the virus. once they have dried up and only the scabs remain the risk of contagion is over.
Chicken pox is contagious through both direct contact and respiratory transfer. Direct contact is contagious until the pustules go away.
Chicken pox waits on nothing. Not even fabricated religious holidays that are actually a veil for excess consumerism and greed.
Wow, Scrooge, tell us how you really feel.
Why don't you go choke on a bag of dicks?
Do they not allow the chicken pox vaccine in the UK?
I had chicken pox over Christmas as well, it wasn't so bad!
I got mine for thanksgiving from my cousin....but it's because my doctor refused to give me the vaccine before my second birthday in January.
hope she isn't missing any other vaccines or this could be the lighter of what she could catch
That really sucks, but there is a vaccination for chicken pox now. I got my son vaccinated when he was little. I'm sorry you didn't get one!
